Step Three: Analyzing the Clone Images
Once all possible images are made, and assuming we have enough images to
reconstruct the original volume, the next step is to assure that each image
appears to be what it is supposed to be. It is different for each RAID type,
but in general we make sure that there is a consistency of data (and parity
if applicable). Data is compared across all disk images, making sure that
complete files are present and that a rebuild has not overwritten data,
which it would not do unless the disks were out of order before the rebuild
started. If everything looks good, we are ready for Step
Four: Determining the RAID Algorithm
